Welcome to Blacktown Aquatic Centre, a premier swimming facility located in the heart of Blacktown city. We are Western Sydney's main competition pool, hosting over 50 swimming events each year. With 3 inviting pools, a colourful splashpad, a fully equipped gym and group fitness studio, our centre is a haven for both water and fitness enthusiasts! 

We take pride in offering top-notch programs such as our Aqua Learn to Swim and Kidz Blitz, ensuring a safe and enjoyable space for individuals of all ages and abilities to learn and thrive. 

Our centre also has a rich history, including the time when Kieran Perkins broke the 800 m Freestyle World Record in 1992!

Important Updates 

Outdoor Pool Closure:

  • Our outdoor pools and splash pad have closed for the winter period. 

Indoor Olympic Pool:

  • From 4 pm to 7.30 pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday there are 2 lap lanes and 1 recreational lane available.
  • From 4 pm to 7.30 pm Tuesday and Thursday there is a minimum of 1 lap lane and 1 recreational lane available.

Indoor Olympic Pool

  • Spectator seating capacity for 900 people.

Outdoor Olympic Pool (closed)

  • 6 Lanes
  • Length of 50 m
  • Depth range of 1 m - 1.9 m
  • Heated.

Outdoor Toddler's Pool (closed)

  • Depth range of 0.3 m to 0.75 m
  • Shelter from sun.

Splash Pad (closed)

  • A play area for children of all ages and abilities to cool off and have fun
  • Water jets and special water features.

Fun Fact

This splashpad was designed in collaboration with First Nations artist Leanne Watson, a Dharug woman from the Burubirangal and Warmuli family groups. Leanne’s artwork highlights the connection of Dharug people to local waterways and incorporates imagery of native aquatic fauna. Her colourful art helped bring the splash pad to life.

Features:

  • Treadmills, bikes, cross trainers, rowers, steppers and as well as free weight and machine equipment for all your fitness needs
  • A stretch and abdominal area to help you warm up and cool down after your workout
  • Fitness assessments and a programming room to keep you on track with your fitness goals. 

Please note, you must meet the minimum age requirements of 16 years or older to use our gym.

Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian provide a signature at reception to use our gym. 

Group Fitness

Our group fitness classes are a fun and effective way to get your workout done. 

To attend a group fitness class, you must make an advanced booking online, over the phone or at the centre.

ACU Squads

To be a squad member you must become a member of ACU Swim Club through Swim Central. Confirmation of membership must be provided to the club.

Monthly fees:

  • Transition Squad - $160.00 per month
  • Development Squad - $170.00 per month
  • State Squad - $180.00 per month

Terms and conditions

Joining

  • You must complete an assessment with the Centre Swim Coach to determine which group your child is best suited to.

Membership

  • Your membership includes access to the squad sessions that are allocated by the centre Swim Coach. Minimum session requirements apply for each squad level.

Membership Pricing

  • Please note that all membership category prices are subject to review & change on a yearly basis in line with Blacktown City Council Goods and Services Pricing Schedule
  • Any member directly affected by a price change will be advised in writing at least one month prior to the price change coming into effect.

Cancellation Conditions

  • Cancellations must be received in writing wioth 1 months’ notice period
  • All pro rata and outstanding fees must be paid in full prior to cancelling
  • Fees are non refundable. 

Membership Cards

  • Membership cards are non-transferable and are for personal use ONLY
  • Membership cards MUST be scanned at reception before entry
  • A fee is applicable for replacement of lost or stolen membership cards
  • Members failing to comply with the above membership cards conditions will be deemed as an unauthorised entry
  • We reserve the right to review a member’s membership agreement status when repeated unauthorised entry occurs.

Rules of engagement

  • Time and instructor cannot be guaranteed
  • Squad sessions may be operated in the indoor or outdoor pools as required without prior notice
  • Please vacate the lane space as soon as possible after the completion of the session to make way for the next squad participants
  • Squad members must swim a minimum number of sessions per week depending on their squad level
  • Parents need to actively supervise their children in accordance with centre supervision guidelines. 

Privacy

  • Blacktown City Council values your privacy and will take great care with your personal details. ACU Squads program customers personal information will be shared with Debit Success in order us to provide this service to you. The security of your personal information is very important. Blacktown City Council and Debit Success have systems in place to protect your information. Your details will only be used for the intended purpose for which they were provided.
